About: Etta Etta-Tawo

Etta Tawo is a former Division I athlete, longtime football coach, engineer, and fatherhood advocate whose life’s work centers on helping young people—and the parents who guide them—reach their highest potential. With a background that blends elite athletics, technical expertise, and real-world leadership, Etta brings a grounded, relatable, and deeply intentional approach to every space he steps into.

A proud Clemson Tiger, Etta made his mark as a standout defensive tackle before transitioning into an eight-year career as a collegiate football coach. During those years on the sidelines, he developed a reputation for shaping not just athletes, but well-rounded young men. His coaching style emphasized discipline, character, accountability, and heart—values he now brings into his work with families and community programs.

Outside the sports world, Etta built a successful technical career as a Radiofrequency (RF) Engineer for Samsung, where he learned to solve complex problems with precision and strategy. He later expanded his skills with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, a Project Management Certificate, and the globally respected PMP certification, equipping him with tools to lead, organize, and build systems that truly work.

But at the core of Etta’s journey is fatherhood and mentorship. He understands firsthand the challenges that parents—especially fathers of color—face when trying to support their children in sports, school, and life. He is passionate about creating spaces where dads can learn, collaborate, and grow together, and where young athletes can receive the guidance they need to thrive—on the field and beyond it.

Etta’s strength lies in making big goals feel achievable and high-pressure environments feel grounded. Whether he’s teaching parents how to navigate the sports world, coaching youth on confidence and discipline, or speaking honestly about his own experiences as a father, he leads with authenticity, compassion, and a deep commitment to community.

Driven by the belief that strong fathers build strong families—and strong families build strong communities—Etta continues to pour his knowledge, energy, and lived experience into programs that uplift athletes, empower parents, and open doors for the next generation.
